América Tropical was a renovation of part of a historical building located on Olvera Street in Downtown Los Angeles.
Completed in 2012, the 24,000 sq ft. project consisted of constructing a new footing on cast in place concrete piling, and erecting a protective canopy over the famous América Tropical Mural by David Alfaro Siqueiros. Royal Construction Corp. coordinated with the Getty Museum staff to accomplish this.
